r2 with winamp3

since r2 now has winamp 3 support i happily moved over and yet i dont have a clue how to turn it on in winamp3 as the interface isnt the same as it was in winamp2

Right. i have WA3 here...
Go to the 'thinger' or the winamp menu and open the 'preferences' window. Down the bottom of the list on the left there should be a 'Classic Visualization' option. CLick it and you'll get a list of the visualizations installed with WinAmp 3 - you can also choose to use your old WInAmp 2 ones. Anyway, that bit should be pretty self-explanatory.

There is no classic visualisation option in my Winamp 3, and henceI can't use R2 vis with Winamp3

Its just not in the list, I have just downloaded a fresh copy of winamp 3 and re-installed it - but it just isn't there...

Have a look on the WinAmp site under 'components'. It'll be there. It seems they were going to add it but then never got around to it - you'll have to download it separately:
