How to create a flat water surface... (WATER module)

... on which I look straight from top? I can't examine how to use eyex/y/z, lookx/y/z and upx/y/z of the WATER module. I know, that "eye" is the camera, "look" is the looking direction of the camera and "up" is the coordinate system of the water object. But how to use it?
