I've spent the last two hours trying to convert a 3D model to MD2, using everything from standalone converters to MilkShape3D (which I own a copy of), and they all keep borking it up somewhere.

Two, three years ago, MD2 was easier to find tools for that worked. Today, most of the locations even Google can track down are defunct, or otherwise somehow broken and missing vital links in the toolchain, be they documentation or other problems.

So, is there any chance of supporting a newer, better-supported model type, like MD3?

Well... I eventually assembled a toolchain to create .MD2 models, from MilkShape3D I have to go to a little-known program called Misfit Model 3D. This converts from MS3D files to MD2 format without giving all sorts of wierd errors and warnings like MS3D seems to enjoy doing.

Anyways... still wish support for a newer animated format like .MD3 existed.
