Hardlock on Thinkpad T42 Radeon 9600 Mobile

I love this plugin, but unfortunately no matter what settings I adjust (tried getting new vid drivers, direct x, tweaking display/opengl/d3d settings, vsync...fullscreen/windowed)

it hardlocks (cant ctrl+alt+del) and i have to power down to re-start. This usually happens anywhere from 3-10 minutes after I start R4

Any suggestions?

Pentium M 1.7ghz
512 mb ram
64mb radeon 9600 mobile
14 inch lcd @ 1400x1050 + 15 inch external lcd (tried using just one monitor)

Hmm. I actually tried on a Thinkpad T42 I had and it all worked fine.

I'm afraid I can't be much help here - hard locks like that are usually caused by driver problems, and may well occur with other OpenGL programs as well. If your machine is working properly then I don't think any program should be able to cause it to lock so you need to reboot it - even if it is buggy.

The main thing i'd say in this case (which you've already done) is video card drivers. Try turning off PBuffers if you turned them on, and try new motherboard drivers...

I also think drivers are the problem.

Unfortunately, IBM and my school network wont let us use any other drivers than ones directly released through IBM

so that sucks
