Couldn't create the PBUFFER - error message

I have latest version of R4, radeon 9800SE@PRO with 128MB RAM
Athlon XP 3000+ and 1GB of system RAM
Sometimes when scenes are changing i get message: Couldn't create the PBUFFER, there is only OK button to press, and after that winamp and R4 close down
I could disable all fades that couse this problem, but I hope there is better solution.
Any ideas?

You turned on PBUFFERs in the R4 options i'd guess.
Turn them off and it should work fine.

that was a lame question after all
i can only defend mysefl that I never really was able to look in settings, becouse R4 was crashing down before I could do that
this time I was fast enought to disable PBUFFER and everything woks fine now

Yeah also try lowering the buffer size and then turn pbuffer on. 512x512 is probably what you need for taht card.

John, can you explain what pbuffer is? when it turned off, will change of it's size affect on R4 output?

The buffer size will not effect the output of the screen res it is just the detail of the different 'layers' On settings, on screen display and turn a buffers to see what each on is.

Play with reducing teh bufferf size to see the effects. High more detail, lower less detail.

Pbuffer is just a method of storing the buffers. It is s a dedicated extension in OpenGL which should be quicker but sometimes it doesn't seem to make too much different.
