Installation issue with winamp

So I have all of the system requirements and I use Winamp Pro 5.22. R4 Installed correctly but threw an error telling me I didn't have Winamp installed on my system. There a manual process for adding the files to the Winamp plugin directory? I didn't see any obvious files in the R4 directory, nor did I see instructions on here.
