Scene display suggestion

Finally got to look at R4. I have access to a decent PC for a couple of days so hopefully I can squeeze in a few scenes. ;)

Wantted to demo it at AVIT but I could only get my hnads on the hired compaq boxes (2.5GHz CPU but on board Intel 32MB GFX card) and R4 didn't run.

But suggestion I want to have a on screen display of what scene is currently running. Just so we know.

ok. i'll try and stick that in. Can you think of any neat way to control R4 remotely? The only thing i can think of at the moment is windows messages - like WinAmp does.

At least most people can use it then - R2e pro used windows networking, but virus checkers + firewalls picked it up. However, it would be kindof cool for networked vis boxes.

As for networking ,seems like a correctly setup firewall should pick it up now matter what. Was having the people open up a port to confusing or problematic? I assume 90%+ use WinNetworking.

problem is a lot of them put up a window in the bottom-left, which is sod all use if R4 is running fullscreen. People routinely told me R2e had crashed when loading and this was the reason.

Also i've been told a lot that VJs are very unlikely to bring 2 PCs along to network them, and would far prefer a dual display approach. But then i suppose networking to localhost would still work (it would need the networking stuff setup though).

Ideally i want a plugin structure where i can add things like MIDI input support for lightshows without having to modify the main R4 executable.
