Stuff does radiate out the sides, but it looked better like that.

Scene selection

Postby Wuddha » Thu Oct 16, 2003 3:27 pm

With the number of scenes growing, it might be an idea to allow text input to jump to a particular scene/range of scenes.

I.e. Type R E D (quickly) and you will be taken to the first scene with a name beginning with RED. - Much like exploring folders in XP.

Type nothing for 2 seconds, and the search is cleared.

Ps, another vis I like is the 'Gem Matrix' vis in the 'Battery' selection for WMP 9. Doesn’t seem like it would be hard to program (based on a programming knowledge of approximately, but not equal to 0 )

The next idea has been raised before, Picture Display. The 3D transitions in WMP9's Picture Vis 3 are sensational. If something like this were available for R4, I would definitely persuade the pub where I work to obtain a commercial license.

Cheers,

Adam

Pictures and more tex support is something I have a few ideas on for added to r4. But I have done nothing yet...........I will.....I will.:)

The gemstonefactory vis you refer could probably easily be done with the old visual feedback from R2/e (although the fading different background colours maybe/could not be done - the gemstone effect could).

The similar '2-D' like visual feedback/Geiss effect could be used as a dynamic texture in R4.

I like the idea of the quick scene change - maybe also available for music if WA5 gives some support for quick search. The gemstone effect could be done quite easily i think - i may have a go when i get some free time.

What do you mean by more texture support in r4? also, the visual feedback effect in r4 has been there since the first public beta. You *really* need that new gfx card :p

I never noticed any colour change in the gemstones - it was always green for me :( Still, r4 will do changing colour - things like sabretooth and chris' redbluerings have dynamic changes in colour:

R2e actually had an effect very similar to gemstones. I forget what it was called now. It kindof pulled the visuals into squares and faded to black - one version panned around too.

I'd imagine that the Solar Flare

could be modified to make a better version. You could dim down the middle so that was black, and maybe do the same with the outside too
